Preferred Retail Systems

Dear Retail Store Owner;

Image

You are likely visiting this site in anticipation of opening a Retail Store or finding better ways to operate the Retail Store you currently own. Or perhaps you are not satisfied with the service you received when you purchased Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management Systen, Point of Sale, or Point of Sale 2009. Read on, I believe the information you find here will be timely, useful, and relevent.

Some time ago, I met Sandy Lee, a Z-Coil Medical Reseller who was set to open a specialty shoes store in just 30 days. She asked me to help her set up QuickBooks to run her store. I laughed at the notion and although initially she nearly booted me out of her store, we soon came to terms with the ridiculous notion of trying to use Quickbooks to run a successful retail enterprise.

One of the most common mistakes that Small Business Owners make is failing to understand the difference between Line of Business (LOB) Software and accounting software. Now don't get me wrong, you can run a Z-Coil Store with Quickbooks. You could also run a store with just a Checkbook, a ledger, and a receipt pad... but why would you want to do so?

Please don't misunderstand, I like QuickBooks and have used many versions of it over the years. In fact, unitl recently I was a QuickBooks Affiliate and could sell you QuickBooks Products. But QuickBooks is by design a one shoe fits all (pun intended) Small Busines Accounting Solution and simply cannot compare to Retail Management System in the core features needed to operate a Retail Store.

That applies equally to any Accounting System of which I am aware.

Take Inventory as an example. RMS tracks nearly 50 different attributes about any given item in your inventory. Most accounting systems track about five attributes. Complimenting this astounding array of inventory information are tools to manage that inventory that will literally save you hours a day!

Take a moment to register at this site. This will  provide you access to a collection of articles, information, links, and insights that will help you manage your store. Best wishes in your new venture.

PS. Sandy is now one the top 20 franchises nationwide. Call and ask her how RMS helped her get there!
